Beyoncé ‘Was Never Scheduled’ to Attend 2024 DNC

Despite weeks of rumors and unconfirmed reports that she would be performing or at least introducing Kamala Harris, Beyoncé “was never scheduled” to attend the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

“Beyonce was never scheduled to be there,” a rep for the singer told the Hollywood Reporter. “The report of a performance is untrue.”

Her non-appearance came as a surprise to many people. The 32-time Grammy-winning artist approved the Harris campaign’s use of her “Lemonade” song “Freedom” in a campaign video and has since allowed the ticket to use the song throughout their campaign.

In addition, the singer previously endorsed the Joe Biden/Harris ticket in 2000, and she performed in support of Hillary Clinton four years prior to that, on top of performing at Barack Obama’s second inauguration in 2013.

Harris is the evening’s keynote speaker, tail-ending a weeklong convention that will culminate with her accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination of her as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2024 election against former President Donald J. Trump.

According to NBC News, Harris’ speech will praise President Joe Biden, outline her policy stances and detail her personal story and professional background as she seeks the presidency.

Harris’ remarks will close out the Chicago convention, which has since featured speeches from former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, former President Bill Clinton, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, media mogul Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling and the vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Broadcasts of the DNC have already reached upwards of 20 million views, according to Nielsen’s ratings, and you can broadcast the final night of the convention on ABC, CBS, NBC, Scripps News, CNN, CNN, FOX Business, FOX News Channel, MSNBC, Newsmax, NewsNation and PBS.
