Bonne Maman’s 2024 Advent Calendar Is Already on Sale

You may be wondering why you’re reading about advent calendars in August, but it’s never too early to get excited about the holiday season. Traditional advent calendars may count down the days until Christmas, starting with December 1 and ending with December 24, Christmas Eve, but who said we have to stick to that schedule?! 

One of the most popular advent calendars of 2023, and my personal favorite, is already available due to overwhelming demand. And though the packaging is Christmas themed, you don’t have to wait until December to enjoy the goodies inside. I’m talking about Bonne Maman’s jam-filled advent calendar, which was such a hit last year that it sold out before Thanksgiving.

The limited-edition box includes 24 single-serve jars, most of which feature flavors you won’t see at any other time of year. In fact, many of these spreads are so rare, you’ll never be able to buy them as individual jars. Like a typical advent calendar, every spread is hidden behind its own door. I delighted in opening up each of these compartments to see which jam would adorn my toast that morning. 

Bonne Maman was kind enough to send me this year’s box, and a few standout spreads from 2023—like caramel with coffee and purple fig with cinnamon—are included in the calendar again. But there are also new and delicious-sounding preserves that I can’t wait to try, like wild blueberry with maple syrup, which sounds like a pancake in a jar.

It’s important to note that if you order the calendar now, you will receive it in a few days—it isn’t a delayed ship that will arrive around the holidays. However, you can wait to open the box until December if you wish as the “best if used by” date is June 2025. It’s hard to know how long the calendars will remain in stock given their early sellout date last year, so I recommend you buy yours now even if you do plan on holding off until the advent season to partake in the jams.

If you’re allergic to certain foods, Bonne Maman did put the full ingredient list for the 2024 calendar on its website, though be warned that the full range of flavors will be ruined for you if you sneak a peek.

“What fun this was to open every day!” one satisfied customer wrote in a review, adding that it’s “a nice way to try different flavors that are not in our grocery stores.” This is my favorite aspect as well because these aren’t spreads you can pick up just anywhere. They’re unique to this gift. I also agree with the reviews that note the high-quality packaging. I haven’t had any broken jars or leaks in the two calendars I’ve received.
