Coldplay’s Chris Martin Reacts to Concert Affair Joke

Chris Martin Jokes Concertgoers May Be “Having an Affair” After They Hide From Camera

Chris Martin tried his best, but he didn’t quite succeed with this fan moment.

The Coldplay frontman felt a little guilty after poking fun at a couple who didn’t want to interact with the jumbotron at his band’s July 15 concert in Foxborough, Mass.

As seen in videos circulating on social media, the man and woman were caught off guard when they appeared onscreen, leading them to quickly break away from their hug and duck out of sight.

“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy,” Chris joked, before expressing remorse over unintentionally calling them out. “Oh s–t, I hope we didn’t do something bad.”

The 48-year-old went on to mock his own onstage gaffe later in the show. When the camera landed on another man and woman in the audience, he quipped, “Are you two a legitimate couple?”

But that wasn’t Chris’ first slip-up on his Music of the Spheres World Tour. During the Toronto stop on July 8, he missed his cue and flubbed the lyrics to his 2014 smash hit “A Sky Full of Stars.”
