Cybertruck Speeds To Price Segment Leader As Used Market Accelerates

The Cybertruck is now officially a price segment leader. And that’s driving a pricey used CT market.

Kelley Blue Book, in a new report, says new EV prices “have been trending higher since the spring…In large part…driven by market leader Tesla, which has seen prices increase 13% since January.” But it’s not just the Model Y and Model 3 driving the price upticks, it’s the Cybertruck. “The new Cybertruck is likely one reason Tesla [Average Transaction Prices] have increased,” Kelley Blue Book said.

Cybertruck best-selling vehicle in ultra high end segment: In June, the Cybertruck was the best-selling vehicle priced over $100,000, said KBB. The average transaction price was $112,696 with more than 3,200 units sold, KBB said. That puts the Cybertruck in rarified high-end segment company, including the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the BMW 7 Series, and Bentley.

Used Cybertruck market still growing: Kelley Blue Book shows 256 results for used Cybertrucks in the U.S. as of mid-July, a marked rise from May when used CT listings were around 100. But don’t think you’re necessarily going to get a great deal. A quick glance at the pricing for used Cybertrucks shows the average asking price is above the ATP for new Cybertrucks.

While used Tesla Model 3 and Model Y prices have been declining, used Cybertruck prices have stayed high, according to Cars.com, which showed an average list price of above $140,000 for the Cybertruck in a report released last month.

A new rear-wheel drive Cybertruck starts at $60,990 on Tesla’s website, the dual-motor all-wheel drive model at $79,990, and the tri-motor Cyberbeast model is priced at $99,990 — all with 2025 availability or delivery dates.
