Diving World Cup: Tom Daley and Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix star as Britain win three silver medals

Great Britain have won three silver medals at the Diving World Cup.

Tom Daley, Anthony Harding, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Yasmin Harper scored 438.05 to finish second in the mixed team event in Montreal on Friday.

Spendolini-Sirieix claimed a second World Cup silver on Saturday with a score of 301.14 alongside Lois Toulson in the women’s 10m synchronised event.

Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding also added to Britain’s medal haul in the men’s 3m synchronised event.

China’s Long Daoyi and Wang Zongyuan took gold with 464.79 points, while Mexico’s Rodrigo Diego Lopez and Osmar Olvera Ibarra finished narrowly behind Laugher and Harding’s score of 410.64.

Spendolini-Sirieux and Toulson also found themselves between Chinese and Mexican pairings on the podium, with Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi winning on 368.82 points for China.

Meanwhile, the British quartet finished second to China on 506.35 points on Friday, while Australia scored 405.70 to take bronze.

In the mixed team event, each country is required to perform one individual dive per team member, plus a 3m synchro and 10m synchro dive.

Daley and Spendolini-Sirieix were part of the quartet that won gold in the event at the World Aquatics Championships last month, along with British team-mates Daniel Goodfellow and Scarlett Mew Jensen.

It was Daley’s first time competing internationally in two years, having stepped away from the sport after winning gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the men’s synchronised 10m platform event.

The 29-year-old is in line to compete at his fifth Olympics at Paris 2024.

Britain’s Noah Williams and Kyle Kothari will compete in men’s 10m event later on Saturday.
