Dolly Parton Is Launching Her First Wine Collection
She’s got a theme park, a dinner theater, a line of dog clothing, baking mixes, and cookware. And now, Dolly Parton is adding to that exhaustive list of (supremely fun) endeavors: her own line of wine.
The award-winning country music legend announced her first collection of wines Thursday this week. Aptly called Dolly Wines, they’ll be made through a collaboration between Parton Family Cellars and Accolade Wines — a company behind more than 50 different brands.
Dolly’s first wine will be a California Chardonnay from 2023, which the brand describes as “a blend of white peach, sweet cream, and toasty oak for a perfectly balanced sweetness.” After its launch, Dolly Wines plans to add both a Rosé and Prosecco to the mix in the fall, specifically for retailers in the United Kingdom. A fourth, which will be a sparkling vino, will launch in Australia in September.
While this is Dolly’s first beverage, she isn’t the only celebrity who has decided to try their hand at selling wine as well. Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart have both launched wines in recent years through 19 Crimes — you can even purchase a Snoop & Martha two-pack from the brand. In 2019, actress Cameron Diaz also launched her own wine brand, Avaline, which focuses on organic wine.
Unlike some other celebrity brands where the celeb is just offering their name to the brand, Dolly was reportedly involved “in every step of the winemaking process.” The singer offered input on taste as well as the look and feel of each bottle.
“We are beyond excited to bring Dolly Wines to the world,” Accolade Wines chief marketing officer, Sandy Mayo said in a press release. He says he thinks that the wines “capture her captivating sense of fun and sparkle perfectly” and that like Dolly, “everyone, everywhere” will instantly love them.
If you want to get your hands on a bottle and “pour yourself a cup of ambition” after “workin’ 9 to 5” you’ll have to wait a few weeks. The first drop in the collection, Dolly Wines California Chardonnay 2023 will go on sale in the United States in July. That said, you can guarantee yourself a bottle come launch day by pre-ordering the wine now through Vivino on DollyWines.com, the official website for the brand.
Anyone who preorders the wine through Vivino also has the opportunity to participate in $1 Dolly Days, a promotion where you can add a month of Vivino Plus, which provides free shipping, for $1.
