What should have been a festive party turned fatal for a popular influencer and another driver on the 4th of July.
Last week, three individuals were involved in a nasty accident on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. Local law enforcement reported that sometime after 10:30 on the 4th, a white 2019 Mercedes-Benz veered into the center median causing a deadly head-on collision with a Cadillac Escalade traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the Cadillac tragically died at the scene while the passenger and the driver of the Mercedes were taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries. And it turns out that the latter was none other than wellness influencer Summer Wheaton (pictured above).

Boasting over 100,000 followers on Instagram, Summer is known for promoting healthy lifestyles… but that night was potentially anything but healthy.
According to ABC 7, Summer was at a star-studded party at Nobu prior to the nasty collision, with officials revealing to the Malibu Times that speed and alcohol possibly played a role. Sergeant Chris Soderlund of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriffs Station told the outlet on Saturday:
“As far as her being at Nobu, that is part of the overall investigation and unconfirmed at this time.”

Since the crash, Summer has made her Instagram page private. We wonder how many angry comments she was getting about this tragedy.
