Glen Powell’s Wet T-Shirt Scene Was Almost Removed From ‘Twisters,’ Director Says | Glen Powell, Movies, Twisters | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

One of Glen Powell‘s scenes in Twisters has gone viral, and it’s all thanks to a white T-shirt in a little rain.

The 35-year-old actor’s newest movie hit theaters on July 19. In one scene, his character steps out into the rain wearing a shirt, which is rapidly soaked through.

In a series of interview, the director Lee Isaac Chung and Glen himself broke down how the scene came together. Fun fact: It was almost cut.

Speaking to The Wrap, Isaac said that he “tried to reduce that scene.” However, his plans were rapidly stopped by his editor.

“And my editor at one point said, ‘You’re about to face a mutiny in this editing office. You have been requested to please restore the full length of that shot or else there will be a mutiny,’” he recalled.

He added that he did not expect the scene to be as steamy as it became until he saw it unfold.

“I didn’t plan it like that. When I saw it on rolling on the monitor then I was realizing what I had just created,” he told the outlet.

Glen told Variety that there was originally a jacket that he was going to wear, but Isaac decided to scrap it at the last minute.

“I was like, ‘OK.’ But then I was like, ‘Wait a minute,’” he said, joking that he did not do push-ups on set.

Isaac told the outlet that he imagined the scene would be “impressionistic.”

“When we started rolling then I realized, ‘Oh, this is what I’ve done.’ And everybody’s telling me to keep rolling. I aim to please,” he said.

If you missed it, we recently learned why the movie doesn’t address climate change.
