These days, brands have a wealth of celebrity-backed launches up their sleeve. And in the coming days, an unexpected partnership is heading to a Slurpee machine near you: 7-Eleven is collaborating with the ‘90s punk band Green Day for its Slurpee flavor — the Kerplunk Kandy Grape.
The convenience chain describes its newest frozen drink as “a sweet and slightly twisted treat” and an overall “flavor riot,” marking yet another partnership between them and the band’s coffee line, Punk Bunny.
This sweet flavor is inspired by the cotton candy grapes that Green Day reportedly requests on their tour riders, as the Texas-based chain explains in today’s announcement. These sugary-sweet, white grapes go viral every year and are a summertime favorite for many — including the band’s lead vocalist, Billie Joe Armstrong.
“I have great memories of getting Slurpee drinks with my friends. It’s always perfect on a good day or even a bad one. Being able to create our own custom Punk Bunny flavor and bring it to everyone across the country has been an amazing moment,” Armstrong explains in the press release.
Their Kerplunk Kandy Grape Slurpee — which references Green Day’s 1992 album, “Kerplunk!” — will be on tap at 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations nationwide starting today. Punk Bunny already teased the limited-edition collaboration on Instagram earlier this month, sharing behind-the-scenes snaps of the neon green treat:
The limited-edition Slurpee flavor was previously part of a limited rollout on April 20 at select 7-Eleven locations in Los Angeles. In another Instagram teaser, the band said the Slurpee flavor’s national launch would spur the “greatest Slurpee sales in history!” (We have yet to hear about any sales numbers.)
Meanwhile, the band’s Punk Bunny has been around since 2015, when Green Day initially launched it under the name Oakland Coffee. It offers a line of organic coffee grounds and K-Cup pods, following a 2024 partnership with Keurig Dr Pepper. As far as we can tell, Kerplunk Kandy is the first time that Punk Bunny has introduced a Slurpee to the mix.

Eager to slurp up the latest treat? While the flavor will be available nationally, fans on the West Coast have even more opportunities to explore it.
Folks in Los Angeles can also swing by the Kerplunk Kandy Speakeasy, a pop-up that celebrates the latest partnership. (They’ll have to purchase a Slurpee themselves first — the cup or receipt acts as a ticket into the 7-Eleven x Punk Bunny Event.) Open the weekend of May 3, this two-day event offers samples of the newest flavor, customized clothing, and merch to celebrate the launch.
“Our first launch with Green Day and Punk Bunny was so exciting for customers because they loved seeing music and coffee culture collide in such a unique way,” executive vice president, chief marketing Marissa Jarratt says in the release. “Now, we’re channeling that same punk spirit into our iconic Slurpee drink. Kerplunk Kandy Grape is rooted in the band’s story, and we can’t wait for fans to experience this one-of-a-kind flavor.”
Sounds like you’ve got a suggestion for which album to queue up on your next 7-Eleven run.
