HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams Reveals 2025 Color of the Year

Paint trends are very gradual, but HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams thinks the world is finally entering a new era. Their new 2025 Color Collection of the Year “Naturally Refined” indicates that the long decade of gray minimalism is coming to a close, and a new reign of warm, soft colors is beginning. 

From the earthy terracotta of Spiced Cider to the gentle green of their 2025 Color of the Year Quietude, these 10 hues balance light yellows, sage greens, and creamy whites with browns and earthy blues to create some beautiful, unexpected color combinations. “Naturally Refined is all about having those quiet moments in your home,” says Ashley Banbury, HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams color marketing manager. Its versatility makes it the perfect palette for mixing and matching without overwhelming the senses. Each shade not only pairs well with the others in the collection but can be used on the cabinetry, ceilings, floor, furniture, or lights.

What’s more: To help consumers experience the 2025 Color Collection of the Year in the comfort of their own homes, HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams is collaborating with AI-powered home visualization tool Palazzo. So if you’re dancing with the idea of repainting your walls or cabinets, you don’t have to settle for just swatching.

2025 Color of the Year: Quietude

Soft shades of greens and blues are often considered neutral colors, and this soothing sage green is a lovely marriage of both with its blue undertones. It’s serene yet crisp and refreshing, a reinvention of the vintage paint colors we love. As the foundation of the entire collection, it sets the tone: “We want something that feels very comfortable and derived from nature, but we want that elegance as well,” Banbury says. “We want to come into a space that feels sophisticated and where we can unwind and relax.”

Rocky River

Rocky River, the deep green shade featured on the ceiling and doors above, has just enough moodiness to balance out the lighter neutrals of the collection. It’s ideal for anyone who prefers a darker but serene setting. If you’re itching to try out color-drenching, this gentle blue is the perfect place to start. Pair it with light wood accents and some lighter greens and yellows for a cozy, happy nook. 

Spiced Cider

A terracotta shade will instantly warm up any space—the rusty earthiness makes it easy to pair with both cool and warm colors, while the unmistakable orange undertone helps it stand out. Especially in this year’s collection of blues, greens, and yellows, this hue is a subtle shoutout to the red family, which you can expect to see more of in design in 2025.

Convivial Yellow

On the brighter side of the collection, Convivial Yellow is pigmented enough to be exciting but soft enough to be approachable and inviting. Try it as a “peek-a-boo” hue, like in this dining room, to give a surprising pop of color and add a whole new dimension to a space. Banbury says you can use it to “provide a colorful accent and embrace the architectural charm of your home.”

You really can’t go wrong with a blue like Delft: Whether you want to be reminded of the sky or a still lake, this mid-tone, neutral blue is a great way to connect your house back to nature and bring on the calm.
