Inaccurate Apple Products Reviews Could Be A Marketing Gimmick, Says This Tech Guru – Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)

On social media like Elon Musk’s X, formerly Twitter, tech enthusiasts have raised questions regarding the accuracy of some Apple Inc. AAPL product reviews, prompting a closer examination of whether these discrepancies serve as a subtle marketing tactic.

What Happened: On Monday, popular tech analyst Mark Gurman shed light on the issue, noting an increasing number of inaccuracies in advanced Apple product reviews.

Gurman said, “It feels like the number of inaccuracies (which are irrelevant as long as the coverage is positive) in advanced Apple product reviews increases annually.”

One example Gurman highlighted was a review of the AirPods with a USB-C connection.

The review praised features like increased battery life and the inclusion of extra ear tips, despite neither being new additions. Gurman suggested that positive but inaccurate reviews might have been strategically crafted to influence consumer perceptions and drive sales.

In the comment section, netizens echoed skepticism. Some users commented that these tactics were classic marketing strategies, encouraging consumers to purchase products they may already own or find unnecessary.

Why It’s Important: Last week, Apple launched a USB-C port for AirPods along with its latest smartphone lineup, the iPhone 15 series. However, the USB-C charging case for the AirPods Pro 2 is not available as a standalone purchase.

Simply put, existing owners of the AirPods Pro 2 won’t be able to change their charging case for the USB-C version. They’ll have to pay $249 to get an entirely new pair.

The latest AirPods Pro has a USB-C charging case and can tap into 20-bit, 48 kHz Lossless Audio with ultra-low latency when paired with the Vision Pro. But this feature won’t extend to the existing second-generation AirPods Pro despite sharing the same H2 chip.
