Lady Gaga Set to Perform at 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony

Lady Gaga is set to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games this Friday, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

This comes after fans speculated the “Shallow” singer was set to take the stage on the River Seine in Paris, along with other rumored artists, including Celine Dion, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande and French singer Aya Nakamura. However, the ceremony’s line-up of performers has mostly been kept under wraps.

NBC News reported earlier this week that rumors increased after Gaga and Dion were spotted arriving in Paris ahead of the Olympics, a global, multi-sport competition. The A Star Is Born actress was seen in social media videos on Monday waving to fans outside her car in France’s capital.

Gaga, a Grammy and Oscar-winning performer, has been busy the last few years filming the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux, where she plays Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck/Joker, and headlining her Las Vegas residency show, called Enigma + Jazz & Piano.

In 2022, she was also traveling the globe for her seventh headlining concert tour, The Chromatica Ball, in support of her sixth studio album Chromatica.

The “Bad Romance” artist’s Olympic opening ceremony performance marks her first time on a televised stage since her stripped-down performance of “Hold My Hand” at the 95th Academy Awards last year. The song from Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for best original song.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics will air on NBC beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET Friday and stream on Peacock and NBC Olympics platforms.
