‘Suits L.A.’ And ‘Grosse Pointe Garden Society’ Ordered By NBC

Suits officially has a spinoff! After months of speculation, NBC has greenlit the legal drama Suits: LA, which will feature Arrow alum Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who “has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.”

Produced by UCP and Hypnotic, original show creator Aaron Korsh returns as writer and executive producer of Suits: LA.

Per the official description: “Ted Black’s firm is at a crisis point and to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.”

The cast of Suits: LA includes Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis and Bryan Greenberg. David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein and Victoria Mahoney will executive produce. Mahoney also directed the pilot.

There is no word if any of the cast members from Suits will guest star.

Additionally, NBC has ordered Grosse Pointe Garden Society, a new drama from Universal Television and Minnesota Logging Co. about the scandalous goings-on of a suburban garden club. Written by Jenna Bans (Desperate Housewives, Scandal, Good Girls) and Bill Krebs (No Tomorrow, Good Girls), the series focuses on four very different members of the titular garden club who “get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom,” per the official description.

The cast of Grosse Pointe Garden Society cast includes Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), AnnaSophia Robb (The Carrie Diaries), Ben Rappaport (For the People), Matthew Davis (Legacies), Alexander Hodge (Insecure), Aja Naomi King (Lessons in Chemistry), Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing), and Felix Avitia (Raven’s Home).

Midseason in 2004-25 is the probable debut dates for both Suits L.A. and Grosse Pointe Garden Society, but nothing has been offically announced.
