Brooklinen Down Alternative Comforter

Brooklinen

As someone who loves to treat herself to a five-star hotel stay, this Brooklinen comforter feels spot on to the ones I’ve tucked myself under at prestigious hotels. I truthfully like this Brooklinen Down Alternative Comforter better, though, because it doesn’t leave me sweaty at night (I’m a hot sleeper). Made of a hypoallergenic polyethylene terephthalate microfiber fill, the comforter has kept me pleasantly warm all winter and still sleeping comfortably in warmer temperatures. It’s super plush and fluffy; in the mornings I just do a quick lift and drop of the comforter and it looks perfectly sleek on my bed.

Beckham Hotel Collection Pillows Set of 2

Amazon

I will never stop preaching about these pillows, because they’re one of my favorite Amazon finds of all time. I initially bought one set and after sleeping on them one night immediately purchased another set. I’m a side sleeper, and these provide my neck with enough support without being stiff. The cotton cover also stays surprisingly cool throughout the night as well. They’ve held their shapes fairly well, too, over the past two years I’ve had them; if I see a slight indent I’ll just pat them around to fluff up the fill and voila good as new. I’m not the only one impressed with these pillows; they’ve received over 169,000 five-star ratings from Amazon shoppers, with over 60,000 purchased in the last month.

Buffy Breeze Comforter

Buffy

The Buffy Cloud Comforter is Real Simple’s favorite comforter out of the 34 that were tested. Made with a lyocell shell and fill, the comforter has great temperature-regulating properties, making it a great option for hot sleepers. During testing, though, we found that it was still comfortable to use even in the hot summers of NYC. Its lightweight nature is also a plus and makes it easy to spread across the bed. If you’re both a hot sleeper and have sensitive skin, this is also a great comforter to have; the brand’s trademarked SilkShape fabric is smoother than cotton and linen to prevent any irritation, and it has been Oeko-Tex tested for any harmful substances.

We at Real Simple take our sleeping experience very seriously. We test dozens upon dozens of comforters, sheets, pillows, mattress pads, and more to provide data-driven and real-life tested recommendations. If you’re looking for other options like the ones we’ve made above, keep reading on to score editor and shopper favorites during Presidents’ Day sales.
