Tillotama Shome to Star in Queer Love Story From Shweta Tripathi

Tillotama Shome to Star in Queer Love Story From Shweta Tripathi

Shweta Tripathi, the acclaimed Indian actor known for her breakout role in Cannes title “Masaan” and her star turn in Prime Video’s “Mirzapur,” is ready to step behind the camera for her first feature film as a producer.

The project, titled “Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan,” will be a queer love story featuring Tripathi alongside the internationally recognized actor Tillotama Shome.

The film, directed by Indian National Award-winning filmmaker Sanjoy Nag, is scheduled to go into production by the end of 2025.

“This film is very close to my heart — not just because it’s my first as a producer, but because of what it stands for,” Tripathi said. “Queer love stories deserve to be told with honesty, beauty, and nuance. Having Tillotama on board makes this even more special. She’s not just a phenomenal actor, she’s also someone I deeply admire and trust. We’ve been wanting to work together for a long time, and I can’t think of a better project to begin this journey with.”

Shome is an Indian actor known primarily for her work in independent films, beginning with a supporting role in Mira Nair’s Venice winner “Monsoon Wedding” (2001). She starred in Cannes title “Sir” (2018) and in “Shadowbox,” which premiered at the Berlinale earlier this year.

Shome has also starred in “A Death in the Gunj” (2017) and “Lust Stories 2” (2023), as well as television series “Delhi Crime” (2022), “The Night Manager” (2023), and “Paatal Lok” (2025).

The project will be helmed by Nag, who won the Indian National Film Award in 2011 for his debut feature film “Memories in March,” which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival. His credits include “Yours Truly” (2018), which also premiered at Busan, and “Good Morning Sunshine” (2023).
