Why ‘The Odyssey’ Is Only Pre-Selling One Showtime a Day, Leading to Sold-Out Screenings a Year in Advance | Christopher Nolan, Movies, The Odyssey | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

Christopher Nolan‘s next movie The Odyssey has started selling tickets a year in advance and nearly all of the available screenings have sold out already.

Well, the only screenings that are being sold right now are for 70mm showings and each theater is only selling one screening per day for the first four days of release.

Variety confirms that not only is the movie “still without an official runtime — it’s still in the midst of filming.” Since movie theaters don’t know how long the movie is yet, they can’t properly schedule a full day of screenings in a single auditorium as of now.

It’s likely that additional screenings will not go on sale until Nolan has finished making the movie and a runtime has been confirmed.

Variety reports that “95% of available seats have been sold,” less than 24 hours after the tickets went on sale.
