Zoe Kravitz opened up about a “hurtful” decision that she made after her parents Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet divorced.
The actress and rock legend were married from 1987 until 1993. The Blink Twice star spent her early childhood living with her mom in Santa Monica, Calif.
That changed when she was 11 and decided to move in with Lenny. In a new interview, Zoe reflected on the choice and what she thought about it now.

Zoe and Lenny moved to Miami, Florida before heading to New York City. However, he was on the road for a tour shortly after the big move.
“And his house was under construction,” she told Esquire.
“I think it was very hurtful that I moved away from her to be with my dad and my dad wasn’t even there,” Zoe said. “I just wish I had been able to appreciate what she was doing for me. She was so focused on preserving my innocence. My creativity. Because she knew what the world is—that you don’t get that back.”
In the interview, she added that it was hard for her to visit with her dad before going back to “this really quit, really simple life” with her mom.
