I recently decided to stock up on leggings, and I can’t believe I’m actually saying this, but I suddenly realized I’m all legging-ed out. Leggings have been my go-to day after day, but I want to feel more presentable and get into work mode throughout the week by elevating my work-from-home style as well as my loungewear. Although they’re still a staple in my wardrobe, I decided to give my leggings a break this spring and opt for relaxed yet equally comfy bottoms that I can wear in and out of the house.
I’ve been slowly bulking up my pants options with linen styles, wide-leg silhouettes, soft trousers, and more to pair with my cropped shirts, tanks, and blouses. While everything I’ve added is comfortable for day-to-day wear, depending on the style, I’ve also worn most of these for date night and even weekend events. Check out my favorite options below.
Best Stylish and Comfy Bottoms
Lee Ultra Lux Comfort Trouser Pant
Amazon
I love that these office-appropriate pants are as comfy as they are polished. It’s not often that you find such an essential combo. The fabric blend of cotton, polyester, and spandex gives these straight-leg trousers a nice amount of stretch throughout the day and a good bounce back that keeps their shape. They’re not as roomy as other straight-leg options, but they’re not skin-tight like leggings either, which I prefer these days.
Nimin High-Waisted Work Pants
Amazon
With the typical appearance of classic wide-leg trousers but made with a blend of polyester and spandex, you can’t go wrong with this high-waisted trouser. I love how polished the front pleats make these look, but I often forget I’m even wearing them throughout the day, thanks to the super soft material. I like to pair them with my sporty tees for a casually put-together look.
A New Day Mid-Rise Sandwash Knit Utility Pants
Target
I love how these utility pants have the appeal of your traditional sweatpants, but the carefully detailed pockets on the front and back give them a refined twist. These have served me well as my go-to at-home sweats and as a cozy pair of bottoms for running errands. I pair them with a fitted long-sleeve shirt and a denim jacket, and I’m good to go.
Quince Ultra-Stretch Ponte Pants
Quince
Don’t be fooled by the incredibly sophisticated design, because these stretchy ponte pants compete with my cushy joggers and often win for their effortless fusion of comfort and style. I was afraid the wide-leg silhouette would overwhelm my 5’1″ frame, but they’re actually fitted through my waist and hips, hugging me in all the right places.
