2024 Paris Olympics schedule: Where to watch Suni Lee, Gabby Thomas and Noah Lyles in finals on Day 9

The 2024 Paris Olympics keep on rolling on Sunday with action all throughout the day across many disciplines. The most notable will be when eyes turn to the track & field portion of the events on Day 9, but the women’s gymnastics will also be in action with Simone Biles and Suni Lee going for more hardware.

Americans Gabby Thomas, Brittany Brown and McKenzie Long will be competing in the first round of the women’s 200-meter race at 4:55 a.m. ET, while Grant Holloway, Freddie Crittenden and Daniel Roberts face off in the first round of the men’s 110-meter hurdles at 5:50 a.m. ET. Later on, Noah Lyles, Fred Kerley and Kenny Bednarek will take on the men’s 100-meter semifinals at 2:05 p.m. ET, with the final happening at 3:50 p.m. ET. Nia Akins and Juliette Whittaker will look to advance in the women’s 800-meter semifinals at 2:35 p.m. ET.

For gymnastics, Suni Lee — who clinched bronze in the women’s floor routine final — will once again be in action when she compete in the uneven bars final at 9:45 a.m. ET. And after helping the men’s gymnastics team to their first Olympic medal in 16 years, Asher Hong will look for one of his own in the men’s vault final at 10:35 a.m. ET.

Saturday’s packed podium action was led by more history for swimmer Katie Ledecky. The four-time Olympian claimed her fourth straight gold medal in the women’s 800-meter freestyle (8:11.04), becoming the first woman and fifth American to accomplish that feat. She also surpassed Jenny Thompson for the most career Olympic gold medals with nine and has earned four medals in Paris. Fellow American swimmer Kate Douglass finished the 200-meter individual medley with a silver medal, while her teammate, Alex Walsh, was disqualified from bronze after an illegal turn. In gymnastics, Biles excelled on vault once again, earning her seventh career gold in the women’s gymnastics vault final with a 15.300 average. Jade Carey also earned bronze with an average of 14.466. Men’s team specialist Stephen Nedoroscik won a bronze medal behind another perfect pommel horse routine. His 15.300 average beat two-time defending champion Max Whitlock by a mere tenth of a point.

The Americans also continued their success in track & field. Ryan Crouser became the first Olympian in history to win three straight gold medals in shot put. Sha’Carri Richardson took home silver in the women’s 100-meter sprint in 10.87 seconds, while her teammate Melissa Jefferson snagged bronze (10.92). Team USA had to settle for another silver medal in the 4×400-meter mixed relay, as they were upset by the Netherlands’ Femke Bol and her 47.93 time in the anchor leg.
