What is Amazon Prime Day?
In case you’re unfamiliar, Amazon Prime Day is Amazon’s major multi-day sales event, where you’ll see the biggest discounts of the year on products from pretty much every category under the sun. While the retailer has introduced other sales events over the past few years (called Prime Big Deals Day and Amazon’s Big Spring Sale), July’s Prime Day is the OG.
Historically the event has lasted two days, but we tend to see products start to go on sale starting as early as a month or two in advance. You’ll typically need a Prime membership to shop the biggest deals, but you can sign up for a free 30-day trial right now and take advantage of the trending deals as they happen.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2025?
Amazon hasn’t announced the dates for Prime Day 2025 yet, but based on last year’s sale dates (July 16-17), we’d expect it to fall sometime in mid-July. We’ll be sure to update this story as soon as the dates are confirmed, but in the meantime, we’ll be adding all the best early Prime Day deals below as they roll in.

FAQs about Amazon Prime Day
Do I have to be a Prime member to shop Amazon Prime Day?
Yes, you must be a Prime member to get access to the best Prime Day deals. If you’re not a member already, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, which will give you access to the sale prices (and if you cancel right after you’re done shopping, we’re not here to judge).
What will be on sale during Amazon Prime Day?
To put it simply, a lot of stuff. We typically see deals on thousands of items throughout the multi-day event, spanning dozens of product categories. If there’s something you’ve been eyeing, chances are it’ll be on sale at some point.
How much are items typically discounted?
Per Amazon’s seller forum, items must be discounted “at least 20% off the non-member, non-promotional price” to qualify as a Prime Day deal. That said, we’ve seen items go on sale for upwards of 50% off—that can mean hundreds of dollars in savings.
