6 Birthday-Themed Cocktails To Set A Festive Mood During A Busy Holiday Season
Celebrating a birthday during the holidays can be a rather strange experience, as you find yourself sharing attention with Santa and a whole lot of other larger than life historical and cultural icons.
But December doesn’t have to be all about trees and menorahs, and if your special day is also a special day for a whole lot of other people, a specialty birthday-themed cocktail is a great way to get the attention right back where it belongs. At least for the length of cocktail hour.
The Birthday Girl
At Elsie Rooftop in New York City, as well as the the venue’s new private membership club, Wolfe’s Den, this fun birthday-themed cocktail is made with Hennessy, Crème De Cacao, vanilla bean syrup, chocolate bitters, and cinnamon garnished with three Baked by Melissa cupcakes.
Adrian Fortes, Bar Manager says: “Blowing out candles on a cake is tradition, but at Elsie Rooftop and Wolfe’s Den, our team elevates the celebration. The Birthday Girl cocktail is a perfectly balanced blend of indulgent flavors that transforms birthday fun into a sip-worthy experience — topped off with three Baked by Melissa cupcakes for the ultimate treat.”
HEY, IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY!
At The Harp Patriot Place in Foxborough, this cocktail is made with vanilla vodka, grenadine, ginger ale, Madagascar vanilla, frosting and a sprinkle rim for a fun birthday twist on a classic Shirley Temple.
“With vanilla vodka, Madagascar vanilla, and a festive frosting-and-sprinkle rim, it’s a unique treat,” said Adam Vargulish, Manager.
Celebration Cake Frozen Cocktail
At Florida-based eet by Maneet Chauhan, they are offering a fun and festive celebration cake frozen cocktail to celebrate their first anniversary.
The frozen cocktail is made by whipping vodka with a birthday cake syrup and served inside a cake sipper cup.
“Guests can celebrate the eet way: eeting, drinking and dancing! This boozy slushie has layers of flavor – whipped cream vodka, birthday cake infused syrup, sprinkled with vanilla and sipped from a 3-tier cake tiki cup. Have your cake and drink it too!” said Paul Dettloff, GM and mixologist.
Maui Birthday Bliss Rainbow Shave Ice Cocktail
At Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa’s Hahakea Shave Ice Truck, this vibrant cocktail features a rainbow shaved ice base with flavors of blue vanilla, banana, and strawberry. Customize it with a splash of whatever your preferred liquor may be for a personalized and celebratory twist.
“The Maui Birthday Bliss cocktail captures the spirit of celebration and the vibrant energy of Maui,” says Maddy Vick, Area Marketing Communications Manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa.
The Lemon Chiffon
Daniel Lagestee, Journeyman Distillery Beverage Coordinator and lead bartender at Union Hall in Valparaiso, Indiana created the Lemon Chiffon, inspired by a classic citrusy cake flavor, incorporating limoncello, white whiskey and walnut liqueur for a smooth drinking cocktail.
“The play of the nut liquor off of the citrus notes in the limoncello provide warmth and buttery expressions. The White Whiskey used in this cocktail allows for these flavors to shine, as it does not dominate the palate with some of the standard characteristics you find in aged spirits, creating a harmonious cocktail,” said Daniel Lagestee.
Deck The Halls
At Peacock Room, the gorgeous cocktail lounge at Kimpton Hotel Fontenot in New Orleans, features a drink called Deck The Halls. The drink is made with vodka, amaretto, creme de cacao, cream and sprinkles.
