Use Dishes and Bowls

To organize your most-worn gems, first head to the kitchen (or kitchen supply store). Grab tiny bowls and plates and set them up in a drawer or on your dresser. Then sort pieces by color or style until they make sense to you—and look pretty! You can also check out local thrift and vintage spots to find more unique pieces for this—you can often source one-of-a-kind, handmade pinch bowls and petite dishes that you’ll be proud to display with all of your favorite jewels.

Try a Tension Rod

Skip the jewelry box! Get a tension rod and install it in a cubby in your closet. Hang some S-hooks from it and use them to hold your bracelets and necklaces.

Enlist a Paper Towel Holder

If you’ve got a lot of chunky bangles and bracelets, try using a pretty standing paper towel holder to display them all! Check out places like Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters for stylish versions. Just stack all your bracelets around the rod, and set it up on a dresser or inside a cabinet for easy access.

DIY a Corkboard Organizer

You can easily find sheets of inexpensive corkboard on Amazon and other retailers to make a mountable jewelry organizer. Cut the cork down to the size you’re interested in, and then cover with a special fabric or leave as-is and hang on the wall using mounting tape or 3M strips. You can also buy pieces of molding or trim (I’m imagining a glossy bobbin trim!) to “frame” your organizer, and use pretty pins as hooks to hang necklaces and such.

Add Hooks on the Inside of a Closet Door

This one’s an oldie but a goodie: Use adhesive hooks to hang necklaces and bracelets on the inside of a closet door. They’ll be easily accessible but tucked away if you’re short on space or don’t want to have your jewelry out on display.

Grab a Utensil Organizer

A utensil drawer organizer is a great way to sort your jewelry, and you might even have an extra one lying around! You can use each slot to hold a different genre of jewelry, or if you have a lot of one category (say, earrings) you can just separate by occasion or material.

Use a Tackle Box

It may not be the chicest way to organize your jewelry, but a tackle box is excellent for separating pairs of earrings and rings. Make sure you get one that’s translucent so you can easily ID everything without even having to open it.

Mount a Coat Rack

A coat rack is another easy way to keep all your necklaces tangle-free! Plus, there are endless styles out there, so there’s really something for everyone. This is an especially good option if you have a ton of necklaces and need something sturdy for the whole collection.
