Travis Scott Gets Into Alleged Altercation With Alexander ‘A.E.’ Edwards

Travis Scott was allegedly at the center of a physical altercation that occurred during Richie Akiva’s “The After” party on Thursday night in Cannes.

Early reports suggested the brawl involved rapper Tyga, although footage shared with Variety appears to show it was model and producer Alexander “A.E.” Edwards, Cher’s boyfriend and Tyga’s friend, and allegedly Scott who were throwing most of the punches. Sources close to the situation say American record producer Southside was also seen pushing Edwards, which is what possibly led to the escalation of the fight between Scott and Edwards.

Variety has reached out to representatives for Edwards, Scott and Southside who did not immediately respond.

Variety can confirm Tyga was present at the afterparty though, based on review of these videos, he did not physically participate in the fight. Both Tyga and Edwards remained at the party until early in the morning and no one was reported to be seriously hurt during the confrontation.

A little over a year ago, Scott was caught in another late-night brawl and was accused of assaulting a 52-year-old man at a New York nightclub where rapper Don Toliver was hosting an after-party.  “The victim was punched in the face and there was subsequent damage to an audio speaker [and] a video screen causing about $12,000 in damages,” officers from the New York City Police Department said at the time. No arrests were made.

Just a few weeks ago, Scott and event promoter Live Nation settled nine of the 10 wrongful death lawsuits that came in the wake of Scott’s Astroworld Festival that left 10 concertgoers dead. News of the settlements came as one of the lawsuits was set to go to trial. Jury selection was set to begin on May 8. Yesterday, Scott settled the final outstanding lawsuit stemming from the festival.
