Eggo Coffee Will Come in 5 Flavors, Debuting This August

When the alarm starts shrieking at us every morning, sometimes the only thing that keeps us from smashing it with something heavy is the thought of that first cup of coffee — and maybe inhaling an Eggo waffle on the way out the door. But a new collaboration is about to streamline our mornings, turning two steps into one.

Two Rivers Coffee has teamed up with Kellanova — formerly known as the Kellogg Company — to create Eggo Coffee. The product debuted at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City in June and will be available to purchase by mid-August.

Eggo Coffee will come in five different waffle-inspired flavors: Blueberry Eggo, Chocolate Chip Eggo, Cinnamon Toast Eggo, Maple Syrup Eggo, and Vanilla Eggo. They will be sold in single-serve K-cup pods and stocked both online and in supermarkets — plus in other retailers. (One good thing to note for the eco-minded among us: Two Rivers coffee pods are 100% recyclable and have been since 2019.)

“Many of us have fond memories of eating Eggo waffles throughout our childhood, and now, there’s a whole new way to indulge in a taste of that nostalgia — with an added boost of caffeine — thanks to our Eggo Coffee,” said Sam Blaney, the director of marketing for Two Rivers Coffee, in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “We are sure this will fly off supermarket shelves and cannot wait for fans to get a taste soon.”

This isn’t Two Rivers’ first collaboration with a familiar brand. It has previously partnered with Cold Stone Creamery, Friendly’s, and Junior Mints, among others, to produce flavored coffees and hot chocolate.

As for Eggo, it seems like those waffles have been everywhere lately. Earlier this month, it joined forces with New York-based cookie makers Chip City for a limited-edition Blueberry Eggo Waffle Cookie. (And — big news — those cookies will be available for the final time next weekend on Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27, at all of Chip City’s locations).

Beyond that, earlier this year, Eggo worked with Dominic Ciambrone, who you may know as the Shoe Surgeon, to design some distinctive shoes called the Eggo Fully Loaded Kicks. (And, much like anything from the Shoe Surgeon, they sold out ultra-fast.) In February, Eggo worked with vacation rental platform HomeToGo for the Eggo House of Pancakes, which was a Tennessee cabin that looked like a stack of waffles, topped with butter and covered with syrup.

Eggo also teamed up with Tennessee’s Sugarlands Distilling Company for two adults-only beverages, releasing a seasonal Eggo Nog cream liqueur and the Eggo Brunch in a Jar Sippin’ Cream.

The arrival of Eggo Coffee will almost make us look forward to the alarm going off. Almost
