2023 was a massive year for HBO Max, as the streaming service officially re-launched as a new platform, merging with the former Discovery+ to rebrand as simply, “Max.” The streamer is now home to some of the biggest releases of the last year, from the final season of Succession and the live-action Barbie movie, to several critically-acclaimed series, including the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, and White Lotus.

A subscription to Max runs just $9.99/month, which is a great value for the thousands of hours of content available on the streaming service. Max subscribers can now also watch live sports and live news online, plus more films, TV episodes and 4K content than ever, according to the brand.

But there are other ways to start streaming on Max, and you don’t necessarily need a standalone subscription to do so. DoorDash has just announced a new promotion that gives its DashPass members an annual subscription to Max for free. That’s right, you can get Max (with ads) for no additional charge when you sign up for a DashPass Annual Plan membership in the U.S. That’s a 56% discount versus paying for both memberships together.

Unlike streamers like Hulu and Amazon Prime, Max doesn’t currently offer a free trial. Still, there are a few ways to get a streaming discount on Max. Your best bet is to sign up for an annual plan versus going month-to-month, which will save you 17% off the total price. Annual plans start at just $99 for Max (with ads) — no promo code required.

If you pay the standard monthly rate, you’d spend an extra $20-$35 more on your Max subscription, depending on if you go with the ad-supported or ad-free package, so the annual deal is a solid savings.

Another way to score a Max streaming deal? Grab the new Disney, Hulu and Max bundle, which gets you access to Disney+, Hulu and Max for one low price of $16.99/month. That saves you almost 40% versus paying for all three streamers separately.
