“Reservoir Dogs’ Actor Michael Madsen Arrested Domestic Violence Charge

Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill actor Michael Madsen has been arrested in Malibu, California on a charge of domestic battery, ahead of being freed from jail.

The Los Angeles Sheriff Department in an August 18 booking report said Michael Soren Madsen, 66, had been booked into the Malibu/Lost Hills Station at 1:40 a.m. after an arrest for a domestic battery misdemeanor 25 minutes earlier.

Madsen was released on $20,000 bail after a bond was posted. No information on a future court date was offered. The domestic battery misdemeanor charge is understood to include a claim of force being used against a cohabitant.

A conviction for a domestic battery misdemeanor charge could earn a sentence ranging from time in jail to a protective stay-away order.

Madsen, a veteran actor of more than 200 films, has been left with a tough guy stereotype. He is best known for playing the diabolical character of Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs. Madsen also played Budd, the sword-swinging slob in Kill Bill Vols. 1 and 2.

Madsen has appeared in a number of Tarantino films, the most recent of which was 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He is also featured in the 2019 documentary QT8: The First Eight. The Tara Wood film examines the Tarantino library with a number of interviews from the writer-director’s stable of stars.

The Hollywood Reporter reached out to Madsen’s reps for comment.
