Krispy Kreme Is Releasing a New Dr Pepper Doughnut

Krispy Kreme is back at it with all-new, limited-time doughnuts. But this time, it’s not doing it alone. 

On Thursday, Krispy Kreme announced it’s partnering with Dr Pepper for the first time in the brand’s history with a new “roster” of doughnuts just in time for the start of football season. 

Starting this Friday, August 23, sweet treat lovers can head to their nearest Krispy Kreme to pick up a doughnut from the Krispy Kreme x Dr Pepper Kickoff Collection, which the company says provides the same “refreshing experience of the iconic 23 original flavors of Dr Pepper, plus a returning Krispy Kreme seasonal favorite.” 

The Dr Pepper Kickoff Doughnut, Krispy Kreme explained, is made with “an Original Glazed Doughnut piped with Dr Pepper flavored frosting, featuring a Burgundy Sprinkle Blend and topped with a white chocolate Dr Pepper logo.” 

But that’s not all. As part of the collection, it’s also releasing the Buttercreme Goals Doughnut, an “Original Glazed doughnut dipped in green icing, topped with colorful sprinkles and a yellow buttercreme flavored goal post.”

Those looking for more can also get the Kreme Filled Football Doughnut as part of the lineup, which is an unglazed doughnut filled with “white Kreme,” dipped in chocolate icing, and decorated to look like a sugary little football. 

“Two of America’s most loved flavors are about to become one amazing gameday sensation to make this the sweetest kickoff to football season ever,” Dave Skena, the global chief brand officer at Krispy Kreme, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “This Dr Pepper collection is a must-add to your gameday lineup, whoever you’re cheering for.”

Fans can purchase the doughnuts in the collection either in-shop or order for pick-up at participating shops, or get them delivered via Krispy Kreme’s app and website.

To add a little icing to this already excellent-sounding release, Krispy Kreme also announced that it’s celebrating football season by offering $0 delivery on orders made on its app or through krispykreme.com between August 23–25. So go ahead and use that as the excuse you needed to order an extra dozen.
