Chick-fil-A Is Reportedly Starting a Streaming Service — Here’s What We Know

Chick-fil-A reportedly has a brand-new product coming out. And it has nothing to do with chicken.

Reports began to surface on Thursday night that the fast-food chain is working on a new streaming entertainment venture and will create multiple original shows to debut later this year.

According to Deadline, which broke the story, Chick-fil-A is specifically working with studios on “family-friendly” content, including unscripted reality shows, and is in the process of licensing and acquiring new content.

As Deadline additionally reported, its programming may also include a game show produced by Glassman Media and Sugar23, along with original scripted shows and animated series. However, there is no word on what this streaming service may be named and where it will be available. Food & Wine reached out to a representative at Chick-fil-A who noted the brand has “nothing to share” at the moment.

While it’s a move that feels completely out of left field, The Verge noted that the Chick-fil-A brand is owned by the Cathy family, whose independently managed trust also helped found Trilith Studios, which has previously worked on several Marvel films and game shows like “Family Feud.”

And while Chick-fil-A doesn’t want to confirm the news just yet, it would appear a job posting from 2023 is already doing that for them. As Axios pointed out, in 2023, Chick-fil-A posted a listing seeking an Entertainment Producer to join its team. The listing even hinted at what the streaming platform may be named.

The job description read in part: “We are looking to produce original entertainment — entertainment not necessarily about Chick-fil-A products or the Chick-fil-A brand … The Entertainment Producer role is charged with overseeing the day-to-day creative production of original scripted and unscripted shows produced by Chick-fil-A and its various production partners and content creators. This original programming is intended for Chick-fil-A’s soon-to-be-launched PLAY entertainment app and may include scripted podcasts and audio adventures, original animation, reality and game shows, and other live-action scripted or non-scripted programming. Once new series have been greenlit for production, the Entertainment Producer will work under the direction of the Entertainment Creative Director to bring each assigned series to life.”

There’s also no word yet on if Chick-fil-A plans to stream on Sundays, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
