SWPL: Rangers go top after thrashing sorry Dundee Utd

Hearts edged closer to Celtic and Hibs with a 6-1 win over Motherwell.

However, Emma Brownlie restored Hearts’ two-goal lead within two minutes, Monica Forsyth got her second of the season and Lisa Robertson netted before Brownlie added her second.

Glasgow City squeezed out a 2-0 victory over Spartans.

It took 30 minutes for the deadlock to be broken at Ainslie Park when Natalia Wrobel found the back of the net.

Spartans found a few chances but did not do a huge amount to trouble Ava Easdon, making her City debut in goal.

Nicole Kozlova doubled City’s advantage with six minutes before full-time to clinch all three points in Edinburgh.

Partick Thistle fought back to claim a 2-2 draw against Aberdeen.

Hannah Stewart was on the scoresheet after just three minutes to give Aberdeen the lead at Firhill.

It took until the second half for the Dons to find a second when Francesa Ogilvie bent her effort into the top corner from distance.

Emma Lawton pulled one back after a scramble in the box, before Carla Boyce levelled the match with a strong header for her first of the season.

Montrose grabbed their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory at Queen’s Park.

Louise Brown slotted home the opener just nine minutes into the match.

The home side were reduced to 10, and gave away a penalty, after Hannah Cunningham was shown a straight red card just 12 minutes into the match.

Brown converted to give Montrose a second and Jade McLaren added the third in the second half.
