Cinnamon Maple Twists Recipe

We love a good shortcut, and this cinnamon maple twists recipe is proof. By using a few cans of crescent roll dough you can skip making dough, but still feel like you’ve created a bakery-style treat right in your own kitchen. These gorgeous pastries channel the energy of a cinnamon roll, but are glazed like doughnuts with a hint of maple flavor. The swirl effect of the dough is hypnotizing, and there’s an irresistible walnut crunch in the layers that will keep everyone coming back for more.

Ingredient Substitutions

If you don’t have maple extract, use pure vanilla extract instead. These twists will still be delicious! Swap in chopped pecans or hazelnuts for the walnuts. Or, leave out the nuts entirely if you prefer.

Be assertive when pinching the ends together to seal the twists. If they’re not pinched tightly enough, the ends will open while baking and the twist will lose its neat shape.
