The NFL Scouting Combine starts Thursday, and the invitational-only event includes more than 300 college football players who will showcase their skills through Sunday, March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. From physical tests to interviews, mental makeup, measurements and medical evaluations, fans can watch the NFL combine as pro football coaches, scouts, general managers and executives evaluate the players skills and athleticism through on-field workouts and drills. For some fans, watching and wagering has become of greater interest in recent years as select U.S. sportsbooks offer more wagering options.
Following Super Bowl LIX and the Eagles win over the Chiefs in the most watched and wagered game of the year, there are more NFL betting opportunities in the offseason months ahead with the combine and NFL Draft in April. The NFL Combine has become a TV show and another thing for the NFL to monetize, and bettors can’t get enough action when it comes to the National Football League.
While the legality of some of these NFL props and betting options varies by state for select regulated U.S. Sportsbooks, top online sportsbook and Panama-based BetOnline has been a market leader in providing more betting options for fans. That’s especially the case for people in the most populated states that currently don’t offer betting at U.S. sportsbooks – California, Texas and Florida.
Betting on the most popular NFL games and props, and offseason events like the NFL Combine and draft along with novelty props and political wagering is big business. BetOnline offers additional wagering options by also accepting cryptocurrencies and embracing Bitcoin as a secure and convenient payment method.

Note that some of the players above have been training at EXOS in preparation for the NFL Scouting Combine – the same place Xavier Worthy did ahead of setting the NFL Combine record last year in the 40-yard dash (4.21 seconds).
New Turf For NFL Combine
There is a new field in Indianapolis installed by Matrix Turf. The article from FootballBettors.com shows that the new turf is designed to mimic outdoor grass more than traditional artificial turf, and provide more shock absorption, traction and stability for the players. The tradeoff is a little slower surface.
The old turf at Lucas Oil used a rubber-based infill. It often produced faster track-like conditions on artificial turf. The new system, however, features Geo CoolFill Plus. It’s an organic infill made from coconut husk and cork, and is more like real soil and needs periodic watering to maintain its properties.
Unlike rubber, which provides more rebound and a firmer, springier base, Geo CoolFill compresses under footstrike. This creates a surface that absorbs more energy and slows acceleration.
