I Tried Quince’s New Luxury-Like Perfumes—Save Up to 64%

Smelling good is just as important to me as looking good. However, I’m not someone who necessarily enjoys spending a small fortune on designer perfumes. 

For years, I’ve coveted perfumes from brands like Le Labo, YSL, and Tom Ford, but I haven’t been able to justify their steep price with my tight budget. So when I discovered the luxe-for-less brand Quince was dropping new designer-inspired scents, I had to try them.

Quince Néroli Soleil Eau de Parfum

Quince sent me its Eau de Parfum Discovery Set to sample its eight new fragrances—and to say I’m in love is an understatement. Of all the scents, my favorite is Néroli Soleil. It smells nearly identical to Yves Saint Laurent’s Libre Eau De Parfum, which I own in a travel size. And it’s not just me who thinks so; my friends who are fans of the designer perfume couldn’t believe it wasn’t the real deal. While YSL’s Libre scent costs $140 for a 1.7-ounce bottle, Quince’s comparable version is just $50. 

Quince’s Néroli Soleil perfume smells like summertime upon first spray. It has warm, floral notes of bergamot, lavender, orange blossom, and jasmine scents, and then hours later, I can smell hints of musk and cedar on my skin. I plan on buying the full-size bottle to wear all summer.

This fragrance, in addition to the seven others, is ingeniously crafted by the same expert perfumers who develop designer fragrances, and it shows. It’s genuinely long-lasting—I sprayed it on my wrist a few nights in a row and woke up to the smell still there. I’ve also worn other perfumes from the set, like the currently sold-out Bois de Santal that’s comparable to Le Labo’s Santal 33 and the still-in-stock Tom Ford-esque Les Cerises, and they last all night.
