Tesla CEO Musk Slams Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ as ‘Disgusting Abomination’

Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, who recently stepped down from his role running the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for the Trump administration, slammed the tax bill passing through Congress as a “disgusting abomination.”

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote Tuesday afternoon on his social media platform X. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

Musk wrote in a follow-up post that the bill will “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.”

Asked about Musk’s X posts in a press conference, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that his criticism doesn’t change President Donald Trump’s support of the bill.

Musk, whose time as a “special government employee” trying to slash government spending with DOGE ended last month, has turned his attention back to his companies. Critics and other observers have questioned exactly how much DOGE delivered during Musk’s few months in Washington.
