Popular Yogurt Recalled Due to Plastic Contamination

Danone just announced a recall of all of its YoCrunch yogurts, after customers complained about finding pieces of plastic in the mix-in toppings like M&Ms, granola, and Snicker’s pieces that come atop each yogurt. (That means if you have any of the YoCrunch yogurt in your fridge, the toppers are not safe to eat—though the yogurt itself is safe to eat!) Danone is actively working with stores to remove products from the shelves, but the YoCrunch yogurts currently in stores are involved in the recall.

The plastic fragments have sharp edges and are transparent and up to an inch in size, so they could potentially cause injuries or become a choking hazard.

If you have any YoCrunch in your home, you should not eat it. You can contact the company for information about refunds by calling the YoCrunch Consumer Care Line at 1-877-344-4886, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET.
