Aldi Recalls Deli Macaroni Salad Due to Unlabeled Allergen

Reser’s Fine Foods, an Oregon food manufacturer, has issued a voluntary recall for its 32-ounce macaroni salad due to an allergen warning that was not printed on the label. The deli salad recall covers a single item with a use-by date of June 3, 2024, distributed to select Aldi locations nationwide.

Any Aldi Deli Macaroni Salad marked “USE BY JUN/03/24” does not have an allergen callout for wheat or the correct nutritional information. The FDA warning shows that the front label for the product is correct. However, the manufacturer accidentally included a back ingredient label and nutritional information for their gluten-free coleslaw salad.

Aldi stocked the macaroni salad in the following states:

  • Alabama
  • Connecticut
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Louisiana
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • North Carolina
  • New Hampshire
  • New York
  • Rhode Island
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • Vermont

According to Aldi’s website, the item is seasonal and has the product code 708791.

Consumers who thought the salad was gluten-free or have other concerns about the labeling can contact their local Aldi for a full refund or toss the product. For other questions and concerns, call Reser’s Fine Foods at 1-888-223-2127 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST, Monday through Friday).
