Giants projected to win 5.4 games in latest NFL Network model

The Giants already had relatively low expectations ahead of the 2025 season before the schedule release, where the team was handed no gifts over their first six games of the season.

Based on a recent NFL Network model, the Giants are projected to win just 5.4 games in 2025.

Trying to win at Washington (in Week 1) and hosting Kansas City (on Sunday Night Footballin Week 3) in the first three weeks of the season is tough in itself. That becomes a much tougher ask if rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart ends up being the team’s starter. The Giants’ schedule is punishing overall and especially so midway through the campaign, with back-to-back road games in Denver (Week 7) and Philadelphia (Week 8) and home games against San Francisco (Week 9) and Green Bay (Week 11) sandwiched around a trip to Chicago. The difficult sequence finally ends in Detroit in Week 12.

The Giants, of course, will play each of their divisional rivals in 2025 with the NFC East at peak level. They also have to play another very strong division in the AFC South and additional games against the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and even emerging teams like the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos.

The NFL Network model shows that the only team with a projected win total lower than the Giants is the New Orleans Saints.

For what it’s worth, the Giants are likely a much better team than they were in 2024 considering the improvements in free agency and the draft.

However, the uncertainty at the quarterback position and the Giants’ most difficult strength of schedule was likely a big reason for the win total. Ideally, the Giants can at least improve on their win total from a year ago and have an impressive campaign from their rookie class just as they had with the 2024 rookie class last season.
