Arby’s Created a ‘Burger Driver’ for Golf-Loving Dads

There is a truly jaw-dropping amount of technology in the game of golf. There are drivers with slidable weights to help shape the ball’s flight path, sensors that can be attached to clubs to provide instant feedback on every shot, and irons that have been designed using AI and machine learning to give even the most average player a better chance of keeping it in the fairway. But, as far as we know, there’s only one driver that looks like someone jammed a graphite shaft directly into a cheeseburger.

Arby’s has combined two of the best things about summer — namely, grilled burger patties and weekends on the golf course — into a club it calls “The Burger Driver.” The Georgia-based fast food chain is giving a Burger Driver away to three lucky winners who register on ArbysBurgerDriver.com between now and 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.

The winners will be chosen on Wednesday, June 12, which means that if you’re one of the three people who get this absolutely bonkers-looking golf club, then your Father’s Day shopping is done. Just stick a bow on this bad boy’s rubber grip, and you’re automatically your dad’s favorite kid. (And if you complete the online entry form, you’re prompted to sign up for Arby’s Rewards and you’ll get 25% off your first Arby’s order.)

“Arby’s Burger Driver was made for our fans who love golfing almost as much as they love a juicy burger,” Ellen Rose, Arby’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “We know that our burgers have what it takes to drive away the competition and put a little sizzle in fans’ golf swings, and now we can’t wait to see our new Burger Driver add some extra flavor to the fairway!”

If you’ve just said to yourself, “I didn’t know that Arby’s even had burgers,” then you’ll be delighted to learn that they do now…again. The Big Cheesy Bacon Burger and the Deluxe Burger will both be available for a limited time at participating Arby’s restaurants. The former is topped with six slices of bacon, Swiss cheese, American cheese, and any other toppings you’d like, and is served on a brioche bun, while the latter fills a brioche bun with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and burger sauce. The Big Cheesy Bacon Burger has a suggested retail price of $7.99, while the Deluxe is one dollar less, at $6.99.

On top of that, next Wednesday, June 12, is National Roast Beef Day. And Arby’s is celebrating Beef Week between Monday, June 10, and Sunday, June 16, by offering five Classic Roast Beef sandwiches for $5. To claim this five-for-$5 deal, beef-eaters will need to place their order through the Arby’s app or on the Arby’s website.

If you show up at the golf course with five roast beef sandwiches and a Burger Driver, we’re pretty sure they’re legally required to name you Club Champion, no matter what your final score is.
