Ariana Grande Wants Fans to Wait to Hear ‘Eternal Sunshine’ in Full

Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine is set to drop March 8, but those itching to hear new songs from the set before then will have to wait. Grande announced on her Instagram Story that she won’t be sharing any more new singles ahead of its release.

“I wanted to say… as hard as it is to resist the urge to share another song or single with you all ASAP, I would really love for you to experience the album in full this time.”

Grande announced her seventh studio album last month, a few days after releasing its first single (and now only) single, “Yes, And?,” which bowed at Number One on Billboard’s Hot 100. While that’s the only advance song she’s shared from the upcoming LP, Grande did tease the names of two other tracks: “Intro (End of the World),” which opens the set, and the Track Five title-track.

Further explaining her decision to nix advance-album singles, Grande noted that fans will still have plenty to look forward to over the coming month: “There will of course be more singles off of this project once it is out (and we may have a little surprise or two of our sleeves to hold you over until then don’t worry). But waiting a little longer for you to be able to listen fully through first really is my ideal way for you all to experience this body of work. Thank you for your trust in my vision and plan!”

She added: “I look forward to savoring every second of this new era with you and I sincerely cannot wait for it to be yours!”

In a clip she recently shared where she described the project to her Republic Records team last year, Grande called it a “concept album.”

“Things are just pouring out and happening very quickly as they often do. You know how I am and you know how these things go,” she said in the clip. “We’re gonna do proper vocals and orchestrations in November. I’m nervous! I wanted to share with you that this is kind of a concept album because it’s all different heightened pieces of the same story of the same experience.”

As she gears up for the release, she’s also celebrating having 14 songs reach 1 billion streams on Spotify, more than any other female artist. “It’s a really absurd number. I can’t wrap my head around the number,” she said in a clip promoting her appearance in an episode for the platform’s Billions Club.
