Taylor Swift Conspiracy Theories Get Mocked By ‘The View’ – The Hollywood Reporter

Taylor Swift‘s fake romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is all a Pentagon psy-op to inject the singer’s woke politics into the great and manly American institution of the NFL. The games have been secretly rigged to assure that the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl, where Swift will take the field during the halftime show to announce her endorsement of Joe Biden’s re-election campaign to 100-million-plus live viewers, thereby helping to steal the election from the real current president Donald Trump.
Or some shit.
But that’s actually what’s floating around out there on the social network hellscapes, nudged along by a few adults who really should know better (Vivek Ramaswamy).
On Tuesday, ABC’s The View — which, to be fair, is often its own heady toxic mix and its panelists are certainly not above getting facts wrong — took issue, first playing a collection of Fox News personalities fretting over the singer’s influence (Swift previously was credited with inspiring 35,000 people to register to vote).
“I cannot think of a dumber political fight to pick than one with the Swifties,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said. “We are a force of nature … This is where it gets nutty: [Fox News] used to be, let’s secure the border, let’s be energy dependent.’ Now it’s straight up conspiracy theory … You’re creating conspiracy theories about a pop star because you can’t win an election.”
“What are you doing for younger voters?” Whoopi Goldberg asked conservatives. “Y’all are making so much stink about Taylor Swift because you don’t know what to do … it’s insane.”
“They should be afraid of Taylor Swift,” Sunny Hostin said. “She endorsed Biden [before] … and a single post of hers led to 35,000 voter registrations.”
The conspiracy theories were given a bump after former Republican presidential candidate Ramaswamy tweeted a nudge-nudge endorsement of such thinking, “I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month. And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall.”
According to a deep-dive in The New York Times, the Swift-Kelce romance has incensed certain corners of the MAGA movement who are worried about Trump’s chances in the fall (assuming he’s officially nominated and his last remaining rival, Nikki Haley, doesn’t pull off a spectacular upset).
Swift’s romance with Kelce has resulted in several dramatic headlines of late, with the singer becoming the victim of pornographic AI nudes that mocked her Chiefs fandom. The images spread on social media sites, primarily X, last week and resulted in a massive pushback from Swift supporters and legislators seeking to crack down on deepfake images.
X even took the highly unusual step of blocking users from searching for Taylor Swift over the weekend but has since unblocked the singer.
On Friday, the White House even weighed in, with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre telling ABC News, “We are alarmed by the reports of the … circulation of images that you just laid out — of false images to be more exact, and it is alarming.”
Super Bowl LVIII will be broadcast on CBS and and streamed live on Paramount+ starting at 3:30 p.m. PT on Feb. 11. Given that last weekend’s AFC Championship game delivered record ratings — 55 million viewers — the climactic game has the potential to be one of the biggest Super Bowls in years — which is, of course, exactly how the Pentagon planned it.
