Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds' Marriage Under Pressure! Justin Baldoni Legal Battle Taking Its Toll!

Blake Lively‘s legal battle with Justin Baldoni is starting to wear on her marriage to Ryan Reynolds.

Ever since the Gossip Girl lead struck up legal action against her It Ends With Us co-star/director, Ryan has seemed to be right by her side through it all — even as they took a beating online. They even laughed off the drama at SNL50. But now, they’re hitting a rough patch.

Speaking to Us Weekly on Tuesday, a source dished:

“It’s been difficult.”

Ryan and Blake already opened up about how much this legal issue has been taking a toll on them in Blake’s amended lawsuit, in which she claimed she was experiencing “extreme” emotional distress and that her children had been traumatized by it all. As for Ryan, he was “affected mentally, physically, and professionally by his wife and children’s pain.” Just this week, the Deadpool star also filed a motion to dismiss him from the suit. So, that shows how much he wants out!

Because of the ongoing scandal, Blake and Ryan have faced a lot of ups and downs lately, a second source elaborated:

“It’s been really hard for Blake and Ryan. They’re trying to be positive and support each other. There are good days and bad days for both of them.”

Despite Blake’s recent selfie of the pair amid a family baking session (above), the first source noted not everything is so happy and carefree behind closed doors:

“Things are tense at home given the level of scrutiny they’re facing.”

Oof. Not too surprising… but not great either. A third insider chimed in:

“They’ve had their lives turned upside down. It’s been hard.”

Here’s the crazy thing, though. Even though Blake went after Justin with some VERY serious allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation, the first source said that the couple didn’t expect him to fight back as hard as he did! Seriously? They thought he was just going to let his reputation be destroyed like that? That’s naive!

Per the first source, they were also surprised by the amount of online support the Jane the Virgin alum received while the A Simple Favor star has been ripped to shreds on the internet. The insider explained:

“She’s human and can only take so much public stoning. [Blake wishes] people would wait and see how things pan out in court before making judgments.”

Naturally, the couple thinks the harsh backlash has been too intense and unwarranted:

“Usually, when [someone says they are] a victim, there’s some grace. But they feel like they haven’t experienced that.”

Well, it doesn’t help that they’ve been cracking jokes about it…

While this has all taken a toll on their relationship, it doesn’t sound like they’re at risk of a divorce on top of it. The first confidant insisted:

“Ryan is standing by Blake. They’re supporting one another.”

The third insider added:

“The whole experience has been devastating for Blake and Ryan, but they’re not running away from it. They know what really happened, and they’re going to stand up for themselves.”

Let’s just hope they start to get some wins in court or it sounds like this could really do some damage to their relationship! Stress like this isn’t easy to deal with!!
