Blue Jays Roundup: Girls track and field team gets tested in Bismarck – Jamestown Sun

BISMARCK — Wins did not come easy for members of the Jamestown High School track and field team on Tuesday.
Head coach Mike Dietz and the JHS girls track and field team placed 11th out of 11 competing teams at the Bismarck Public Schools Invite. Jamestown finished the day with 11 team points. Bismarck Century won the meet with 132 points.
Dietz and company will be back competing on April 24 at Valley City State University. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
While it wasn’t the meet the Jays may have been hoping for, the team still managed to pull out multiple top-20 performances.
In the 400 meter dash, Claire Marker placed 11th with a personal best time of 1:04.98. Marker’s sister, Addison, placed 18th in shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 2 inches.
Jozie Davis cracked into the top 10 in the 100 hurdles, finishing the straightaway in 18,67 seconds.
Hayden Olson finished in ninth place in triple jump and 10th place in the long jump contest posting marks of 33 feet, 5.5 inches and 15 feet, 10 inches respectively.
