Bowen Yang Reveals If He’s Planning to Leave ‘Saturday Light Live’ in the Future | Bowen Yang, Saturday Night Live | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

Bowen Yang doesn’t see Saturday Night Live as a lifelong commitment.
The 34-year-old comedian, who has been a cast member on the show since 2019, disclosed in a recent interview that he plans on retiring SNL somewhere down the line.
“I’m seeing what life after the show is like and how beautiful it is, and how so many people, no matter how long they were at the show, are just with their families and loving their lives and not letting the years take away any of that experience for them,” he told People.
“New people come in and you do have to sort of make way for them and to grow and to keep elevating themselves. And that inevitably requires me to sort of hang it up at some point — but I don’t know what the vision is yet,” he added.

He also reflected on how SNL‘s busy schedule is affecting his personal life.
“The new season of SNL, I’m just like, ‘Oh, right. My time isn’t my own.’ And I tell my friends, ‘I’m not going to really see you guys until June.’ And people that I’ve gone a couple solid dates with I’m like, ‘Hey, it’s not for lack of interest. My time is really slipping away from me and I’m so sorry and it’s not a you thing, it’s a me thing,’” he said.
If you didn’t see, earlier this week, Bowen voiced his opinion on a recent controversial SNL sketch.
