The case of Bryan Kohberger and the so-called “Idaho Four” murders is back in the spotlight after the accused killer changed his plea to guilty earlier this month. By doing so, Kohberger avoided the death penalty and what was sure to be a highly-scrutinized murder trial. Kohberger’s sentencing has been set for July 23.

Ahead of his sentencing, a new book about the Idaho college student murders has hit number one on the Amazon charts, with readers seemingly desperate to delve into what caused the then-28-year-old PhD student to commit the unspeakable acts.

Written by acclaimed true crime author James Patterson and investigative journalist Vicky Ward, “The Idaho Four: An American Tragedy,” promises to shed light on “what the local police and FBI did right. And what they did wrong,” while sharing the backstory for Kohberger, who the authors refers to as a “brilliant grad student, loner [and] apparent incel.”
