Chargers Fired Off Perfect Tweet Amid Reports Jim Harbaugh Will Be Next Coach

Former Michigan Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh has agreed to a deal to take over as the next coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

Harbaugh, who is fresh off a national championship with Michigan, will look to help turn things around for a Chargers team that underperformed and missed the playoffs last season.

The 60-year-old takes over after the organization’s decision to fire Brandon Staley during the season.

Although an official announcement has yet to be made, that didn’t stop the franchise’s renowned social media team from dropping some telling hints about the situation.

The Chargers’ social media team posted the perfect tweet, comically comparing Harbaugh’s hiring to the anointment of the Pope. The team informed its fans that a coaching decision had been reached by sharing a picture of white smoke coming from the chimney of the Vatican.

In addition to the white smoke, the team went on to further tease the hire by quoting one of Harbaugh’s famous rallying cries, “Who’s got it better than us?”

This will be Harbaugh’s second stint as an NFL head coach, having previously been with the San Francisco 49ers. During his playing days, he quarterbacked the Chargers in 1999 and 2000, his final two seasons in the league.

Now, he’s set to be back with the franchise following nine successful years in Ann Arbor, and the organization seems exhilarated about his return.
