Chick-fil-A Introduces the Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich

June 10 is just around the corner, and for Chick-fil-A fans, the wait for the new summer menu is almost unbearable. This highly anticipated menu, dropping on June 10, features the all-new Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich and the return of the beloved Peach Milkshake, both available for a limited time.

The Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich has successfully progressed beyond its limited 2023 test run in Indianapolis and Lexington, Kentucky, and now it’s ready for a nationwide rollout. It’s a grilled sandwich, not a fried one, featuring a lemon herb marinated chicken breast, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, bacon (seasoned with both brown sugar and pepper), and sweet and spicy pickles, all on a toasted maple-flavored brioche bun. The press release notes that this sandwich “balances the delicate flavors of sweet maple syrup combined with a gentle heat and delicious backyard grill flavor.”

The Peach Milkshake, meanwhile, is returning for its 15th year — Chick-fil-A alleges it’s among the chain’s most popular milkshakes. The shake contains real peach puree and comes topped, in classic fashion, with whipped cream and a cherry, although interestingly, delivery orders don’t come with the toppings. (It’s likely they wouldn’t hold up well in transit.)

“We are always looking for ways to make unique twists to our entrée selection and the Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich is a delicious spin on the Chick-fil-A flavors our Guests know and love,” Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging, said in the press release. “It is a delicious blend of sweet, savory and spicy, offering an entirely different flavor profile than any other sandwich we’ve launched.”

That “blend of sweet, savory, and spicy” is one more example of a major brand capitalizing on the “swicy” trend in 2024, following Starbucks’ release of new Spicy Lemonade Refreshers and the return of Wendy’s Saucy Nuggs, whose lineup includes a Spicy Honey BBQ flavor option. The demand for such foods extends beyond quick service restaurants into the consumer packaged goods landscape, with the National Association of Convenience Stores declaring swicy flavors “The Hottest Food Trend This Summer.”

The new Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich is the biggest announcement from Chick-fil-A since March 2024, when it opened an innovative new small-format, grab-and-go location in New York City. Featuring no menu boards, seating, or even cash registers, the new outlet is exclusively designed for mobile order pickups, with employees handing off bags to customers as each order is completed. This restaurant design is a response to the increase in Chick-fil-A’s mobile and delivery orders — so maybe the majority of those Peach Milkshakes will be made without the whipped cream and cherry this summer.
