Hindi crime thriller show Citadel Honey Bunny made it to the top five on the list of most-watched non-English International originals on Amazon’s Prime Video in the year 2024. Created by Raj and DK, the show is the only Indian original content to make it to the list. The Spanish movie Culpa Tuya topped the list while Apocalypse Z The Beginning of the End ranked second on the list. The German show Maxton Hall The World Between Us ranked at the third slot on the list.
Citadel Honey Bunny is fifth most-watched on Prime Video Worldwide, sixth on Indian OTT in 2024
Headlined by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the spy thriller Citadel Honey Bunny was the sixth most-watched Hindi web shows in India in the year 2024. An Ormax Media report registered nearly 16 million views for the show directed by The Family Man fame filmmakers Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK).
Citadel Honey Bunny also ranked fourth on Ormax Media’s list of most-buzzing Hindi shows in 2024. Prime Video’s Mirzapur season 3, Panchayat season three and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s digital debut Heeramandi were the other three that topped the list. Collin D’Cunha’s Call Me Bae headlined by Ananya Panday ranked at the fifth slot on the list. Except Heeramandi (Netflix), all the shows holding the top five ranks on the Ormax Media list are Amazon India originals.
Prime Video’s most-watched international originals: Citadel Honey Bunny the only Indian content
Samantha and Varun Dhawan’s first project together is the only Indian original content to have ranked among the top five most-watched non-English originals on Prime Video in the year 2024. Ranking fifth, Citadel Honey Bunny stood right behind the Italian show Citadel Diana.
When it landed on Amazon Prime Video in November last year, Citadel: Honey Bunny emerged as the most-watched show on the platform that week. It also ranked in the top 10 most-watched shows on the platform in 150 countries.

The show is ‘born’ from Russo Brothers’ Citadel and its world. The American spy-thriller series was executive produced by Russo Brothers’ AGBO and they have also backed all the shoot-off shows, including the Italian one which made it to the fourth slot on Amazon Prime Video in 2024 worldwide.
The Indian series is written by Sita R Menon, along with directors Raj & DK. D2R Films have produced the show along with Amazon MGM Studios. Bollywood star Varun Dhawan and Indian actor Samantha play the lead roles of a spy couple in the series that also features Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, and Kashvi Majmundar in important roles.
The show follows Honey (Samantha) and Bunny (Dhawan) who fought all odds to make ends meet and turned spies for the sake of money to fulfil their dreams of making it to the silver screen in the 90’s Bollywood. The couple ends up in a cocktail of espionage, and betrayal soon and they need to get past their own differences to protect their young daughter Nadia (Majmundar). The lead character in American series Citadel, essayed by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is also named Nadia and the Hindi show is seen as her origin story.
