Ina Garten is the host that keeps on hosting. And in a recent Instagram post, it’s clear she’s treating the Big Game this Sunday as a glamorous holiday party. “Who doesn’t love hot melted cheese with crusty French bread for dipping??” the Barefoot Contessa asks her followers. She’s planning to make her baked fontina recipe for game day this weekend. “I actually take the skillet out of the oven and just serve it right in the pan!”
But the star didn’t stop at baked fontina. She shared a full list of Game Day food favorites to round out your menu, below.
How Garten Prepares for Football Sunday
“If you’re hosting this weekend, here are a few of my favorite party snacks to make your entertaining really easy.” The super chef’s go-to dishes, including a link to their recipes, can be found below:
- Baked Fontina: A perfect blend of olive oil, garlic, thyme, rosemary, and lots of cheese are included in this reimagined fondue dish. Service it with crusty chunks of bread for dipping!
- Hot Dogs in Puff Pastry: Hot dogs are a Football Sunday staple, but with Garten’s unique twist, you’ll get even more out of this traditional delicacy. Garten suggests prepping the rolls a few hours ahead of game time so they’re ready to bake right before dinner!
- Easy Cheese Board: Cheeseboards are a crowd favorite, and Garten brings in all the charcuterie classics with this simple recipe: an assortment of cheese, grapes, figs, and crackers.
- Roasted Shrimp Cocktail Louis: This shrimp cocktail dish will have everyone asking you to forward them the recipe. An amalgamation of chili sauce, lemon zest, and Worcestershire sauce combined with scallions and capers will satiate your guests before the main course. Garten suggests offering a separate bowl for discarded shrimp tails!
- Buttermilk Ranch Dressing for Crudités: Dressings and sauces are just as important as the food we pair with them. Garten’s buttermilk ranch dressing recipe calls for scallions, basil, lemon juice, and other mouthwatering ingredients, along with one hour of refrigeration to allow the flavors to develop. Let the games begin!
