Disney Branded TV, Nat Geo Marketing Chief Pam Levine Exits

Disney Branded Television and National Geographic head of marketing Pam Levine is exiting her role at the company as it restructures to move her responsibilities under Disney Entertainment Television president of marketing Shannon Ryan‘s team.

Levine reported directly to Ryan. Her notable campaigns included Disney Branded Television’s “Percy Jackson & the Olympians” and the “Descendants” franchise, along with National Geographic’s “Sugarcane” and “David Blaine: Do Not Attempt.”

Ryan notified staff of Levine’s departure Friday and revealed that Levine’s previous oversight will be split among Ryan’s top lieutenants, including Erin Weir, who will add Disney Branded Television marketing (Weir currently oversees marketing for ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Television Studios, Franchise, Affiliate Marketing and syndication); Joe Ortiz, who will take on National Geographic marketing (he oversees Onyx Collective and Freeform); and Candice Ashton, who will add National Geographic and Disney Branded Television publicity teams to her list, which already includes publicity for ABC Entertainment, Hulu, Disney Television Studios, Freeform and Onyx Collective.

Currently, Aaron Goldman has already been overseeing marketing creative and operations for ABC Entertainment, Disney Branded Television, Freeform, Hulu, Onyx Collective and National Geographic.

A former 20th Century Fox and HBO marketing exec, Levine joined Disney in June 2022 as head of marketing for Disney Branded Television and National Geographic content. When she was appointed, she was replacing Jayanta Jenkins, who had herself left after just a short tenure in the role.

Levine’s exit and the subsequent restructuring under Ryan’s group marks the latest realignment at Disney’s TV arm, which has continuously been shuffling around its leadership and enacting layoffs over the past couple years.
