Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa ruled out for game due to concussion
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills after suffering a concussion late in the third quarter.
Tagovailoa was ruled out for the game minutes after he left the field.
The injury occurred as Tagovailoa scrambled for a first down and lowered his shoulder at the end of his run. He took a hit to the head as he was tackled by Bills safety Damar Hamlin with 4:24 left in the quarter.
Tagovailoa stayed on the ground and was quickly attended to by Dolphins trainers, as concerned teammates took a knee on the field.
Tagovailoa walked off the field on his own power and headed for the locker room. He was replaced by Skylar Thompson.
Tagovailoa has a history of concussions, suffering at least two during the 2022 season.
He was 17-of-25 for 145 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions Thursday night, leaving with the Dolphins trailing 31-10.
