More than 2 million baked goods from FGF Brands, a pastry wholesale producer, were recalled due to potential contamination with listeria, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Class II recall (which means that the product has a remote probability of causing serious health problems) includes 60 different products, which were distributed throughout the U.S. at places like Dunkin’ Donuts. On the list, you’ll find common donut favorites like Munchkins, coffee rolls, French crullers, and Bavarian donuts.
The recall began in January, though no press release was issued at the time—so it was first announced to the public on February 5. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall, and the products currently on the market should be safe to eat, according to a statement released by FGF Brands.
If you have any questions regarding the recall, you can contact FGF Brands at customercare@fgfbrands.com.
Listeria bacteria is one of the most common causes of food-borne illness, especially among children, the elderly, pregnant women, and the immunocompromised. Symptoms of listeria infection include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. It can also increase the risk of stillbirth or miscarriage in pregnant women, and can cause death in vulnerable people.
